Question

can't get adobe extensions to work

I had to install Photoshop CC2018 as I had a major hard drive crash. I installed new  MAc OSX Sierra.

I sue Russel Brown's Adobe paper texture but I can't get adobe extensions to work. If I try to install it I get s message : "Installer failed to initialize- could be a missing file- please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem". Not sure how to proceed-

If I try to install the Adobe Paper Texture extensions I get a failure message with "please make sure the manifest.xml of this extensions valid and the extension manager recognizes at least one product which the extension supports".

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for the information, we're sorry to hear about the extension not getting installed.

Please use this link to download the Adobe Paper texture Pro: https://www.adobeexchange.com/creativecloud.details.791.html

Make Sure you have the Creative Cloud Desktop App installed and file syncing is turned on

If this way does not work then try installing it manually by following the steps mentioned here: https://www.adobeexchange.com/creativecloud/install-instructions.791.html

    Regards,

I tried everything you said but get following message:

The extension is damaged pt cannot be accessed, please re download it.  (when I try to do it I get another error message).  Could it be disk permissions? If so , how do I check it.

Could you please open the Creative Cloud application, then go click on the 3 dots on the top right corner and choose Preferences.

Once you're in Preferences go to the Creative Cloud tab and you'll see Sync On/Off, make sure the Creative Cloud Sync is checked.

After that Close Photoshop, and click on this link: Adobe Paper Textures Pro and then click on Install

Then Open Photoshop again and wait for sometime and the Creative Cloud application will automatically sync the extension into Photoshop.

And you'll be able to find it in Window > Extensions
