Can't get Photomerge dialog box - Photoshop hangs

Photoshop 22.1.0 running under W10Pro 19041.685

I'm working my way through "Adobe Photoshop Classroom in a Box (2021 Release), and everything was fine until I got to "Creating a panorama". Whenever I select File>Automate>Photomerge, I don't get the Photomerge dialog box, and Photoshop becomes unresponsive, requiring me to terminate the program.

All the other File>Automate options give me a dialog box.

Any thoughts?

Try resetting your Photoshop preferences
