Question

Can't launch Photoshop CS6 - uninstall option appears but not the application

I purchased my laptop used in 2014 and it came loaded with CS6. I have used Photoshop on it for years.

Today I went to launch Photoshop and it doesn't seem to be installed. All other files associated with it appear in the applications folder, however. Plugins, presets, configuration files, etc. are all there. I even have an option to uninstall it. But the application itself is missing.

I have no idea what is going on. Can anyone help me?

Hi

Did you have the licence for CS6 transferred over to you, otherwise you do not legally own the copy of Photoshop that's installed on the Laptop

Yes, I believe I did. I no longer have the information though.

All of my other CS6 Creative Suite applications work normally and I am able to use. Photoshop was working up until just recently and now has mysteriously disappeared (the actual application to launch, that is. all other files related to photoshop are still there for some reason).

What operating system are you using?

Hi Ericam,

Sorry that you cannot find a way to launch Photoshop application on your computer. Let's help make this right,

Which version of Photoshop do you have installed don your computer?

Also, have you tried opening the Creative Cloud desktop app(if using the CC version) and check if the application is updated to the latest version and it shows that the app is installed.

If that doesn't help, I'd recommend that you reinstall the application from the Creative Cloud desktop app. See Learn how to download your Adobe Creative Cloud apps

I'd recommend that you lease reinstall your application using your downloaded setup file.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Akash

Try System Restore.
