Can't print using PRINT command, only when using PRINT ONE COPY

HI,
I am using Photoshop 23.1.0 on an Apple iMAC Pro running BIG SUR 10.6.2, with 64 GB 2666 MHz DDR4 and a Radeon Pro Vega 64 16 GB video card.

My printer is an Epson XP-970, using the latest drivers and firmware.

Selecting Print... any number of copies, nothing is sent to the print queue.

If I use Print one copy, it automatically sends the job without any other modal box popping up and prints one copy of the image.

I have tried this with several images, PSDs. . JPGs.

I have 'cleared' the print settings as instructed by holding down the spacebar. I have deleted and reinstalled my printer drivers.

I have uninstalled PS 2022 and reinstalled it.

This used to work fine before the latest update.

Please advise.

Everybody answering this question is over complicating the whole issue. Those solutions work when the situation warrants them. However, I had the exact same issue you are referring to where the "print one copy" option worked, but selecting the number of images, even 1, didn't work in photoshop. I resolved this issue by selecting "file/print" option in the menu bar and when the Photoshop Print Settings window opened  up I selected the printer I wanted to use, then the number of copies I wanted to print. After that I clicked the "Print Settings" box right next to "Copies" which brings up the "Print" windows for the actual printer I've selected. It's in this window that you want to make sure the number of copies you want to print match the number of copies that you selected in the Photoshop Print Settings window, and wa'la problem solved. As long as the numbers are different Photoshop's print commands won't even register your request for multiple copies, and the "Print One Copy" option will. After that, set them both back to 1 copy and you're back in the game until you need multiple copies again. The number of copies in the Photoshop Printer Settings windows and the actual printer's settings windows have to match. I hope this helps you and anyone else having this issue. Oh, by the way, I'm using a MacBook Pro so I can't say if this will work on a PC, but I'm sure I could.

MAC, reset printing system:

On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners

Press and hold the Control key as you click in the list at the left, then choose “Reset printing system” from the menu that appears.

After you reset the printing system, the list of printers in Printers & Scanners preferences is empty.

Reinstall the print driver, only from the manufacturer, not Apple.

Simple reset: hold the space bar when you open the print window. It resets the print dialogs

Resetting restores Photoshop's internal preferences, which are saved when Photoshop closes. If they become corrupt then various issues can occur.

It may even be time to reinstall Photoshop.

 

Use the Adobe CC cleaner tool to remove all traces first.

Uninstall Photoshop BUT make sure to choose the option “Yes, remove app preference”.

 

Once that process finishes, start the installation process and look into the “Advanced Options”. Uncheck “Import previous settings and preferences” and choose to “Remove old versions”.
