Question

Can't select text.

It seems there's constant problems with Adobe software every update and has been getting worse.

Anyhow, now with Photoshop (newest version) - when I open a CMYK document - the text is almost always unselectable - that is I can't see my selection. I grab the type tool to 'select' the text and that normal dark selection box, isn't there. I can't see my selection. Any ideas on the problem? I read a runaround that If I create a RGB document, it 'activates' the selection tool. This is true but I'd like to solve the problem rather than have to work around it everytime.

I had to uncheck "use graphics processor" under Preferences > Performance > Advanced in order to fix this particular "bug." However, now I'm going to have to go in there and change it back and forth because I need it checked for some of my other functions to work properly. Yet ANOTHER hack around in Photoshop CC. I HATE ADOBE!!!!

I have Photoshop CC 2020. I tried all the above suggestions and still no control over my texts. I can't move or resize after I have created the text and hit enter. The only way I can move around is, select the text layer and hit "Convert to shape", only then I can move the text around. The problem with this option was I can't change back to TEXT after converted to shape. ADOBE please help.

I've been using PS since 2001 and I absolutely HATE IT. I've never used a more buggy program in my life.

THE SOLUTION: Deselect "Use Graphics Processor" under Photoshop's Preferences > Performance.  Shut down Photoshop, then relaunch.   Problem should be fixed.  It worked for me.

I think you should say Freaking Apple, Mojave has caused a lot of issues for Photoshop users, people on Windows and MAC High Sierra aren't experiencing these issues

I agree. Especially after they fixed some bugs with the .2 patch and broke them again with the .3 patch. I’m still on High Sierra until Apple figures this out, and I have no issues with Adobe software.

Hi

Not seeing the issue here on PS CC2019 version 20.0.3 although I have this option enabled in preferences, try enabling it yourself and restarting PS to see if it helps
