Can't use the Removal Tool because your system is running Rosetta

Hello - I am running Photoshop v24.7.0 and macOS Ventura 13.2.1 on a MacBook Pro Apple M2 Max chip. I am not able to use the Removal Tool, the error message I get "Can't use the tool because your system is running Rosetta."

A few questions - 1) What is Rosetta; 2) Do I need to run Rosetta; 3) How do I remove Rosetta so that I can run the Removal Tool?

Thank You very much for your assistance!

Lucia

Hi @Lucia Maresca Rosetta is a Mac OS solution allowing you to run software in old simulated Intel environments. Its used in Photoshop when you have third party plugins that are not compatible with M1/M2 chips.

You can change the setting by quitting Photoshop and then going to the actual app and Get Info on the application. From there you can turn off Rosetta.

Hello @Kevin Stohlmeyer thank you very much for your immediate response. Although I am not following you on "going to the actual app and Get Info on the application" Do you mean open Rosetta? If this is what you mean I am not able to find Rosetta? Thank You!!!!

Go to the Photoshop application in your Applications folder.
