Question

Can you change the background color of your Adobe Library palette?

One or two updates ago (which ALWAYS make our libraries unsync from the program), the background color of our shared libraries went from tranparent to white - so now we can't see any of our shared, 1 color, white illustrations (see photo). Is there a way to change the background color of the window so this feature can be useful again?

I also have this problem and it's very annoying because most of my company brand assets are white on transparent ground. I just end up wasting my time dropping them into my photoshop document to see which one I'm getting.

Did you have any luck with this, as I've just come across the same issue.

How exactly were these items added to the library? Which program drag and drop, add elements button in Photohsop library palette?

What happens if you add a new item to the library?

Make sure none of the files in library are named with nonalphanumeric characters like /|:.

Then

Reset PrefsThoroughly (Mac)

  • Quit Illustrator (100% you must do this)
  • Finder >> Go (hold down option to show hidden) >> library
  • Preferences >> Adobe  >> (Program Name) rename to (Program Name) .old
  • Library- >> Caches >> com.(Program Name) rename to (Program Name) .old
  • Library >> Application Support >> Adobe >> (Program Name) rename to (Program Name) .old

Reset Prefs Thoroughly (windows):

  • Close all Adobe applications.
  • Go to Location : C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
  • Rename Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Illustrator XX Settings folders to Adobe Illustrator.old and Adobe Illustrator XX Settings folders.old
  • Launch Illustrator from CC.
