Can you download photoshop with 256gb? Or do you need to purchase a 512gb computer?

    256 will work fine for now, but it's not a lot.

    You need to eventually do some housecleaning from time to time, and the place to keep an eye on is your user account. An incredible amount of obsolete junk will accumulate here over time, and this is what fills up people's drives after a while. The user account is normally a hidden folder.

    For Photoshop, you need to maintain as much free space as possible for the scratch disk. This is a portion of the drive that Photoshop uses to store temporary working data. Photoshop moves huge amounts of data around, and only a fraction of it can be held in RAM at any time.

    Unless you have another fast drive you can move PS scratch to, if so needed.

    Are you talking about hard drive capacity?  If yes, that should be enough, but if you can give us your computer spec, or model number, we might be able give a better answer.
