Cannot crop in right way

A newbies to Photoshop... I try to crop the left side bubble tea with pen tool, but after adding layer mask, the left side bubble tea that i want is gone, can someone help me?

Masking does not crop.  Masking hides area of a layer. The pixels are still there but they are not visible in the document  composite.
