Question

Cannot open multiple RAW images from folder

This is a weird one, and is the first time in my life I cannot open multiple RAW files from a folder on my laptop.

I have exactly the same set up on my desktop, and I can select multiple files, hit 'Enter' and they all open into RAW and all appear in the filmstrip.

On my laptop, I select multiple files and hit 'Enter' and the first one opens.

When I have finished with that file and hit 'Open', 'Cancel' or 'Done', then the second file opens etc.

Very frustrating as I cannot duplicate settings across all images.

The only way I can open multiple files into RAW is Photoshop 'File-Open' and then search all the files to find the ones I want, which is even more frustrating.

I have cross checked all setting across both computers and they seem fine.

The only difference is laptop is Windows 11 (PS v24.4.1 and RAW v15.3) and desktop is Windows 10 (also PS v24.4.1 and RAW v15.3)?

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for that - this method actually works, so might be a better workaround.

I might have to re-name them and sort them by type, and then they'll be easier to find

Can you select multiple raws and open using a different method than “Enter” such as drag and drop over the Photoshop icon or right click to open?

Cheers, thanks for that - reset the preferences, and tried new batch of images, but still had the same problem.

This one has me stumped?

Try resetting the Camera Raw preferences:
Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw (macOS*) or hold down the Ctrl key and select Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (Windows).
Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences?"

*On Ventura, it is now called "Settings".
