Cannot open .tif file in Photoshop CC 2017

Hello All,

For some reason I cannot open *.tif files. I get a "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file." error. I have searched the forum and found a similar issue, and tried the fix there where I deleted my preference file but that has not fixed the issue. The tif file opens fine in Apple's preview app so I don't think it is corrupted.

    Try changing the document name to pdf or psd before opening, is it opens,

    you can re-save the document again choosing Tiff in the saving options.
