Cannot print to Epson R2880 printer from both Photoshop and Lightroom

This has been intermitant problem in the past but is now chronic.

Am running PS 24.6 and Lightroom 12.4. Every time try to print to Epson R2880 I get " General error" message. Importantly I do NOT get this message with other apps eg a MS Word doc and it prints fine. So seems like an app problem? 

 

Running on Macbook Pro ( 2021) with MacOS Monterey Ver 12.6.5. Have unistalled and reinstalled printer driver, rebooted Mac to no avail.

 

Ngl, its driving me crazy.

 

Any suggestions?

    What printer driver version are you using? The latest for that printer is 12.62; it is a legacy driver dating from November 2022. Version 24.6 of Photoshop and 12.4 of Lightroom are more recent than that, so there could be an incompatibility. As well, there is no lited firmware update on the Epson website for that printer.  I recommend calling Epson tech support to discuss this.
