Question

Canon 5D Mark IV, CS6 and an older Mac

Hello! I recently upgraded to a Canon 5D Mark IV. I cannot open RAW files with my current CS6. I also can't seem to upgrade my CS6 (which I had purchased in 2012) with the Creative Cloud. My current iMac is from 2012. My questions is, do I also need to upgrade my computer so that the current version of Photoshop will run and I can eventually open my Mark IV RAW files. For now, I can convert them to DNG, but I would prefer not to add this extra step.

The latest ACR for CS6 is 9.1.1 You cannot go any further.

The ACR that supports your Canon model is 9.7 or later. So if for some reason you decide to drop CC, you will need Adobe's free DNG converter. There is no way around that.

You already have the newest macOS and should able to run the newest photoshop version CC 2019.

You have a Creative Cloud Subscription or did you buy CS6 by it self as a perpetual license?
