Canon Print Studio Pro Crashes CS4

I am attempting to print from Photoshop CS4 using the Canon Print Studio Pro plugin. As soon as I click on it from the Automate menu all of Photoshop crashes and  I get a message that an error has occurred and that print studio pro will be shutting down, as show in the image below.

I have followed the third party plugin trouble shooting guide here on the support site and have gotten nowhere. I am hoping someone can help get me over the hump on this. Thanks.

CS4 came with 32 bit and 64 bit versions, and I think they both installed by default.  It would be worth trying to print with the Canon plug-in from the 32 bit program.  I used to use the Canon plugin that came with a Pixma 9000Pro (called something Easy Photo Print Pro) back with CS4 and CS5, and I liked it a lot.  Sorry, but I can't remember if I had to use it from the 32bit version of Photoshop.
