Canon r6 Mark II .cr3 photo not opening up Photoshop like the .cr2 does
Hello, I am having a problem with a new camera I have just aqcuired, the Canon r6 II. My older camera's raw format was .cr2, and when I wanted to edit a photo I could just double click on the .cr2 and Photoshop would come up and RAW would open.
With the new camera .cr3's do not do the same. When I double click on one Windows gives me the option to select which program to use. I would located the Photoshop.exe file and tell it to use that, but then that window would pop up again asking me which program to use.
I am updated to Photoshop 25.2 and RAW 16.01, and I checked the compatability chart which shows that Photoshop/RAW is perfectly capabale of handling the r6II's .cr3 files.
An additional conundrum: in Windows under the Default Apps setting, .cr2 files show that they open with Adobe Photoshop 2024, but the Default setting for .cr3 files show Photoshop.exe. I double-check the Adobe Photoshop 2024 .exe file, and it is the same .exe file. So both .cr files are pointing to the same .exe file, but it appears as if Windows doesn't quite believe it.
Does anybody know how it can be fixed so that double-clicking on the .cr3 file will open Photoshop? Is this actually a Windows problem where it is not assigning it correctly?
