Cant delete adjustment layers fast

Hi,

For some reason, lately I have been working very hard on layers because of one problem. When I want to delete several layers (with the delete or backspace key) - one by one, when I want to delete an adjustment layer, I get the message "Invalid Numeric Entry".

 

Instead of deleting the layer, cursor tries to delete the number in the numeric field. What's completely bizarre, at this point the layer should be deleted, not the digit in the numeric field. I guess it used to work fine at one time, but it's become problematic for a while. Is there anything you can do about it?

Which field? 

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible? 

 

What is the active Tool? 

Are you accidentally hitting the enter-key, thus moving focus to the Options Bar?

Sure thing. 

I just posted 4 images:

 

1 - just an example scene

2 - selected adjustment layer, as you can see cursor is blinking in the numeric field on properites panel

3 - when hitting delete, backspace or whatever it tries to type in this numeric field. 

4 - whatever I do error is poping up. Which is super annoying whenever I try to manage my layers.
