Cant Save As Jpeg or PNG Without Deleting All Layers

For some reason now I cant save an image if there is more than 1 layer. This is making it take so much more time to save images the same size or just to keep a PSD file the way I want it for later. I have to flatten the image then save as, then undo, undo, undo, change, flaten, save, repeat. I there a setting to change this?

I would recommend

• to read the »What’s New«-section of the Help when upgrading Photoshop and

• to do a Forum Search before posting here

in the future.

You can either use File > Save a Copy (cmd-alt-S) to save a copy of an image in a File Format that does not support the current image’s content or turn on Photoshop > Preferences > File Handling > Enable legacy "Save As".

You can't have layers in a JPG or a PNG, they are final formats.

Keep your layered PSD file, in case you have to undertake further edits and save copies in final formats, the choice of format depending on its use.
