Cant save my file in photoshop

So strange... as I click the apple in the top left to read "about my Mac" nothing comes up! Weird.

It's Photoshop 2022, and I'm doing my first project in this version. The project is an 11 X 17 inside spread for a mfg brochure complete with photos I've been working on in Camera Raw. That has been going fine.

At this point all I had was one empty layer. So I added a second empty layer and saved it to the desktop rather than my external hard drive. That worked! Yay. So I started adding the photos as JPGs, even reducing their size. But this time it would not save. I am going nowhere and need to get this project moving!

This has happened to me too, just the other day in fact. I saved the file to my desktop wit a slightly different name (i.e. instead of "Bird in Flight," make it "Bird in Flight 2."  It worked. Then you can go back to the file's origial location and delete it, then move the "2" file to that original location and change the name back.

Which version of Photoshop and OS?

How much RAM and spare hard disk capacity do you have?

What are your system specification and Photoshop version? Is this happening with a particular file type or any files? Since when are you seeing this issue?
