Cant use fill bucket in Adobe Photoshop CC2018

When I try to use the fill bucket it won't work it just puts a circle with a cross in it. Can someone please help me.

I'm running Photoshop on a MacBook Pro 13 inch Early 2015 Version 10.12.6

Is the layer locked?

Is it a raster layer, and not an adjustment or vector layer?

Let's see if a Tool reset fixes it. Right or Control click on the icon in the Options toolbar at the top and choose Reset Tool.

I'm using a mid 2012 MBP and the Paintbucket does work in CC 2018/10.12.6.

I tried reseting the tool and it sill didn't work. Thanks for trying though.

You can go into photoshop Preferences and click on the reset on exit button and restart Photoshop.
