Canvas size lock ratio

Hey guys,
I am looking for a way to change a canvas size just by inputting one of the dimensions (width or height) and then I want Photoshop to automatically calculate the other side of the canvas keeping the ratio of the image, just as it would do in Image size.
I need that so I can make an action for many images with different dimentions on which i want to make the small side of the canvas 500px and then Photoshop autoamatically to calculate the other side of the canvas because all the images are different sizes.

So you have images which are smaller and you want to increase canvas size proportionally based on image orientation where smaller side should be 500px?

exactly. I found another solution but I would be happy to hear if you have one including the canvas size options.

No, I do not. I have the solution with conditional step and fit image.

Increasing the Canvas proportionally can result in newly created edges of different widths on the two sides.

Are you sure you don't want to use Canvas Size set to »Relative«?
