Catalina Beta Incompatible with Photoshop CC 2019 & Creative Cloud

Been running OS Catalina Beta for some time. Noticed that Creative Cloud kept prodding me about an update for Photoshop. I attempted to download the update but it failed consistently. I then tried to download it manually. No luck.

I contacted Adobe Support. They asked me if I could remote support. I said yes. They couldn't connect. They directed me to run the Cleaner app, which deleted Photoshop altogether, along with Creative Cloud.

I was directed to download the installer. And it wouldn't run on Catalina as it couldn't check for malware. Same with all the other apps.

I was able to restore most all other apps with Time Machine, with the exception of Creative Cloud installer.

It's my fault for not checking against the beta OS. However, instead of a download failing or getting bad tech support advice, how about a "updated incompatible with beta" message Adobe?

You not dealing with Adobe here.  Also how can Adobe give you the messages you want.  What Adobe code does the Catalina installer run.  Perhaps the Catalina installer and updates should scan your machine for incompatanle application that are installed and warn you that they will not run if you continue with the install or update.  If you install CC on Catalina you failed to meet the Adobe requirement for it application its not a supported OS.

Adobe support should have told you your machine does not meet requitements IMO....

You should not expect support from all developers if you are using a beta OS. If you run beta code you need  to do it on a test bed not  you production or personal computed you need to be working.

My butch without Adobe only provides a general error that an update can’t run. It only presented this error in Creative Cloud dashboard. All other apps, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver updated fine.

After contacting Adobe, they didn’t ask about OS or suggest it was anything other than the app. After remoting into my machine, the direction was to run cleanup, which uninstalled Creative Cloud altogether.

The installer led for Creative Cloud won’t run on Catalina. They’re “help” put me two steps back.

Catalina has been out for some time. Again, shame on me for running a beta but this isn’t Adobe’s first rodeo with a beta. The errors could provide better insight like an OS check. Their support could have asked, or seen it themselves before suggesting they remove anything.

I post this only as a warning to others. My fix was to use Time Machine to get my apps back.

If one beta test they either want to help the developer do better job developing their software or the want to know what problems they in  line for if the development is not done well.  Operating System need to be robust and programs well every Application depends of the OS the are used on.   Beta User know they are asking for problems and their machine may be blown out of service.  I stopped install Windows Preview when my Surface Pro 3 was blown out of service.  All Microsoft recovery software and all Microsoft Windows Installer downloadable from the web could not raise my Surface Pro 3 from the dead. Stone cold it wasn't  some firmware still functioned. Still  I had bring my surface to a Microsoft store there they has a flash drive that was able to breath life back into my Surface pro 3. When they refused the let me copy the flash drive I knew I had installed my last preview.   I was able the restore life to my Dell Workstation However, I stopped installing Previews on my Dell Workstation.  Having to go back to ground zero is not what a I wanted to sign up for.
