I'm trying PS ,to change some things on my photo.

But it is complicated.

In lightroom it is more easier.

Why should I use PS just to change some setting in a photo?

If it is easier in Lightroom , use Lightroom 🙂

Many of us use Lightroom/ACR for processing raw files and adjusting the image with global and local adjustments. Then we bring the result to Photoshop for retouching or compositing with other images.

I guess one could also »rank« by the kind of work one does:

• Press photography: Photoshop unnecessary or even »forbidden«

• Artistic: whatever floats the artist’s boat

• Portrait, wedding, …:  Photoshop* possibly necessary

• Advertising, fashion, …: Photoshop* almost unavoidably necessary

*:  or some other image editing software naturally

What is »some setting« exactly?

Photoshop is not intended just for developing images but for combining, complex color editing, touch-up, … so if you should use it depends on what you are trying to do.

Global brightness, hue, contrast, … changes can be done in Raw editing just fine, probably better even in many cases.

But serious touch-up, clipping, shaping etc. require image editing software as opposed to raw development software.

What is the primary focus of your work?
