Question

change the feathering after making a lasso selection

I've made this mistake a few times now... make a really complex selection, competed it (ie closed the lasso) and then released it is feathered when I don't want it to be.

My current lasso has a 2 px feather. I go to select>> edit selection and it lets me set the feather as 0.1 px, but this still looks feathered.

It's so frustrating because my lasso line is exactly where I want, I just cant change the feathering that PS is applying to it.

Is there a way to do this? I've googled but no joy.

Many thanks!

You may want to try using Paths instead of Lasso Selections more often, they maintain more editiabilty in some regards and if you only use a general Feather that can also be set in the Properties Panel for a Vector Mask.

You just added more Feathering … it does not work in reverse.

You can try to use Curves, Levels, … in Quickmask Mode (Q) to »reconstruct« the sharp selection but with pointy parts that won’t help.
