Changing default settings for type

Ever since last update, when I type onto an image, the blinking line stay at beginning while letters show up at end where suppose to and when I try to use a punctuation as end of sentence, it places it at beginning of next line.

How can I change the settings to where it is typing like I am here right now for this question?
