Character limits in color pickup

Hello.

I have a question. Why there is a limit character in color pickup setup to 8? And when you tipe 8 characters PS screams that you need to type only 6 characters. Is there any reason why we even have this option to type 8 charcters?

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

We are volunteers and do not work for Adobe. The only direct answer we can give you for "why" is that it is programmed that way, but you already know that. Follow Ged's link and post it there for the Adobe developers to see. It's a good idea.

It's assumed that you know what hex is. You can't type whatever you want there. Hexadecimal numbers is just base 16 notation for RGB numbers, 0-255 per channel. In hex that's 000000 - FFFFFF.

But Hex color codes always have 6 characters. Why there is option to type 8 characters? I don't know how to make it more clear, what I mean.

I understand. But for example I love to use color 444444. I press 4 to fil entire field. And than comes up error that I typed 44444444 instead of 444444. Wouldn't it be more comfortable to make limit for users in that field to type only 6 chracters?

Ah I see what you mean, can't say that I use the Hex field that much, you can of course post a feature request on the Adobe Feedback Forum
