Question

Chrome and Safari Causing brush malfunction in Photoshop

Whenever I have my cintiq plugged in and i am using chrome or safari and then switch to using photoshop and try to use the brush or eraser tool, something happens and i can only make dots and straight lines with those tools. other tools appear to be unaffected. this lasts for about 30 seconds before going back to normal. the only way i've been able to get around this is by clicking on another program between using a browser and using photoshop. If i do this the issue does not occur. It also does not happen when i don't have a tablet plugged in. the issue is exactly the same in cs6 and cc and with safari and chrome. I haven't found any other programs that cause it but i don't have any other browsers on my computer right now.

Im using a macbook pro with retina 2013 13 in" running high sierra.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I've been having the same issue and it's been driving me crazy for years.

Dont work:

Older versions of the Cintiq driver don't solve the problem.

Works Sometimes:

Sometimes switching tools works

Sometimes pressing Shift Click as if you are making a straight line, get's you out

Works:

Relaunching Photoshop Let us know if you find a solution it would definitely be good to have one.

It happens to me at least 2-4 times per day, when I use a browser for research.

I hope  some Mac user may have a solution for you.  You may want to try some older Wacom driver on your mac. I feel the problem is a wacom problem or a wacom/mac/photoshop settings probem.
