Clipping An Adjustment Layer To A Group Affects Blending Modes and “Blend If” Settings Within Group

Description of the problem: I'm having trouble clipping an adjustment layer to a group in Photoshop without disrupting the Blending Modes or Blend If settings that are applied to the three layers within that group. Here’s a summary of my layer structure:
Layer Setup:
- Vibrance Adjustment Layer (clipped to the “Design Group”)
- Design Group (Set to Pass Through)
- 1st Layer: Screen Blending Mode + Various Blend If slider settings
- 2nd Layer: Multiply Blending Mode + Various Blend If slider settings
- 3rd Layer Multiply Blending Mode + Various Blend If slider settings
- Background Layer (T-shirt)
Issue:
When I clip the Vibrance adjustment layer to the “Design Group,” the Blending Mode/Blend If settings within the group no longer interact with the background layer as expected. It’s as if the Blending Modes + Blend If sliders aren’t applied at all.Troubleshooting Attempts:
- Changing the group’s blending mode to Normal results in a similar loss of Blending Modes/Blend If effects.
- Placing the Vibrance adjustment layer inside the group still affects all layers below, including the background layer
- Converting the group to a Smart Object flattens it, removing the Blending Modes/Blend If effects relative to the background.
- Merging any layers of the group without the background layer causes all belnding options to be removed.
Goal:
I need to clip the Vibrance adjustment layer to the “Design Group” only, while preserving the Blending Modes/Blend If interaction with the background layer. I have attached "Before Trying To Clip" and "After trying to Clip" images to further illustrate my problem.Any guidance or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
