Question

Clone stamp not working when clone source is from another photo, PS 20.0.1

Since updating to 20.0.1 the clone stamp tool is not working to clone a source from one photo to the other. Cloning works just fine if working within a single image. I have researched clone stamp issues, and have confirmed that 'show overlay' and 'clipped' are both checked. I have also reset the tool.

Clone stamp use is showing up in the history tab, but the clone source is not showing up on the image like it should be - i.e. nothing is happening. I'm not new to PS (15+years) and have been using this technique as long as I can remember without any issues.

Any ideas?

Hi

It's working OK here on 21.0.1 with Windows 10.

Just to be sure, on the source image , if you have the source set to "current layer" then do you have a pixel layer selected?

Alternatively do you have the source set to "Current and below" ?

As Bojan asked - what OS are you using?

Mac, Mojave 10.14.6

Davescm, I have tried all variations of Sample including Current and Below. Not sure exactly what you mean about having a pixel layer selected. I'm option-clicking my source photo, as I always have done, and trying to then clone that source into a different photo file. Not sure if that answers your question.

Thanks for your efforts!

I can not reroduce your problem on Windows. Are you on Mac?
