Clone Stamp Tool not working in PS CC 2017

I have PS CC 2017 and I can't get the Clone Stamp Tool to work. I should add that I'm a new PS user but I've done exactly what the tutorials and various YouTube videos say, and nothing happens. Is it just me? All assistance much appreciated.

Just go here from the navigation at the top of the application window:

Window > Workspace > Photography

A screenshot of your Photoshop window would be helpful, with all the settings and the layer panel visible.

And a link to the tutorial you're following.
