Question

Colorize clipping mask for image brush in Photoshop? Won't work.

Hi. I am using a lightning brush in photoshop and I am trying to colorize it and attach this color via a clipping mask to the brush layer only but it does not work? I can colorize the entire image but when I go to clip this color layer only to the brush layer nothing happens and the brush layer appears to not be affected. Same for when I try to make other adjustments and clip them only to this brush layer, contrast etc. Would anyone know why this might happen?

To illustrate: The Layer with the Blend Mode »Color« has no effect when clipping masked to a Layer that contains white pixels.

Certain Adjustments and Blend Modes may have no effect on certain underlying pixels; white set to »Screen« does not change underlying pixels’ color, any color set to »Color« will not affect white and black, …

You talk about things you don’t show us.

So please post a screenshot with ALL relevant Panels visible.

What is the Color of the pixels in what you call »brush layer«?

I am trying to colorize it and attach this color via a clipping mask

Have you actually omitted to mention how exactly you colorise? Hue/Saturation Layer, Solid Color Layer, …? Which Blend Mode?
