Content Aware Fill Greyed Out in 3D Edit of 360 Image Issue (Video Example Attached)

When I go into 3D mode to edit a 360 image I got from my Ricoh Theta V the Content Aware Fill option is greyed out. A few versions ago Photoshop didn't do this. What am I missing? Just want to remove the tripod with a quick Content Aware Fill command. Help?

Hi

That content aware fill is the new version. In 3D spherical panorama, you can use the old version under Edit > Fill and choose content aware in the fill dialogue

I didn't realize there was an old way and a new. I just thought the old way was removed when the new way was added. Anyways, thanks. This lets me get my project done today, but I would still like to figure out why the new way gets greyed out when trying to make these edits. Thanks!

Hi There,

As you are trying to  work on the Background layer, which is locked by default. Either work on a new layer or unlock the Background layer by clicking on the padlock on the right hand side of the layer panel.

Let us know if that helps.

Sahil

I think there is something odd going on here. When I work with the image as normal (not 3D) and when the background is locked the content fill works fine. Once I unlock it as suggested the Content Aware Fill option become greyed out. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app already as well as removing and resetting preference data.

Wait, I see. I didn't reselect. Let me try the whole thing again. Ha!
