Question

Content Aware greyed out when I open in Photoshop from Lightroom

Currrently I do most of my editing in Lightroom but go to Photoshop for some particular tasks - one of the most common is to use the "Content Aware Fill" tool.

This morning I did what I have always done and opened the file in Photoshop directly from Lightroom after I had completed the Lightroom edits . However the Content Aware Fill is greyed out and I can't seem to work out why or how to restore it.

I have tried making the "Background"  a Layer by unlocking it; also I have tried saving the file as a *.tif and reopening the *.tif version but to no avail. Content Aware Fill remains greyed out. (Other Content Aware tools are not greyed out eg "Content Aware Scale:)

Curious have you tried just doing the Content Aware Fill in Photoshop?

I use it a lot in Photoshop. Yes, I should use Lightroom more often, but I tend to just do it all in Photoshop.

Did this just start happening after an update?

            - Yes that is what I am trying to do. It doesn't seem to matter whether I open images in Photoshop directly or via the "Edit Image in Photoshop" option in Lightroom - the Content Aware Fill in the Edit menu is always greyed out.

          -  I do not know
