Content Aware Scale the "protect" dropdown does not give me any options, i.e. no "alpha 1, alpha 2

Trying to use the Content aware Scare and I don't can't access the ""protect" option. How do I turn this featue on. My opition drop down only shows "none". I don't see opitons: Alpha 1, or Alpha 2, etc.

    I moved this to Photoshop.

     

    Are you working with a layer or a locked background?  If it's a locked background, double-click the layer to unlock it.
