Control-Click (Autoselect) between layers not working?

My auto-select seems to be broken with the latest version (2018) of Photoshop. This is critical, and crucial, as I use it constantly to select between layers, by control-clicking on the image area to select objects. It isn't working!! help

    Same on my side. Are you using a Wacom ?

    I'm using the new Cintiq 22HD. If you boost pen sensivity in the Wacom properties it will help.

    It seems to be working here.

    Sorry but have to ask - do you have Auto- Select checked in the options bar for the move tool?

      Thanks for reply Dave.

      No, it doesn't matter if I have the Auto-Select box checked or not.

      Also, when Alt-Clicking, it works somewhat, but not like it used to. Clicking on some objects takes me to that layer, but on other objects it does not. And again, thats by Alt-Clicking, which is not how it used to work.
