Convert Text to Shape Layer but Faux Bold is Greyed Out

I want to convert the Text layer to a Shape layer. But what I get is this error:

Can someone explain why the "Faux bold" option is greyed out?

In the Character panel, upper right style field, can you change that from Bold to Regular?
