I have a psd file that I am trying to paste a jpeg image onto it and photoshop will not allow me to copy and paste a jpeg image onto the psd image.  Is it possible to do and how do I do it.

Open both documents in Photoshop.

Drag and drop the JPEG into the PSD or do a Select All>Copy>(JPEG) then Paste into the PSD; there is no reason it wouldn't work but deepening on your color settings and the documents, you may get a warning of a mismatch.

Thedigitaldog is correct. But if you have to copy and paste it you will first add a layer.

Are you opening the jpg in Photoshop to copy it, or are you trying to copy and paste between different programs? If different programs, where are you copying the jpg from?

What happens when you try this?
