Correct file not opening

This new issue just happened to me.  No matter what size TIFF file of the same image I open it opens to 22MP.  So if it's a large TIFF file  to print - say 400MB, it still opens and says it's 14x17 22MP.  I can even have a JPEG 1920x1080 and it says it's 14x17 22MP.  

When I go to the File Info it reads the correct size.  When it's sitting on the desktop, it's the correct size.

On my hard drive it has the correct size - but opening it in Photoshop defaults to 22MP.  The file opened in ON1 Raw at the correct size too.  

 

I did the most recent update to see if that would change it but did not.   Using PS 24.3.0

Thanks for reporting the issue.

From what I understand, the edited images are getting reduced in size. Did this start happening after the latest update?

Doe this happen with all files? 

Please try resetting Photoshop preferences back to defaults and check if that helps. Here's the article for the steps: https://adobe.ly/3ceal5t.

Thank you for getting back to me. I did the Preferences thing before posting and that did not help.  Here's a sample of the issue.  Let's say I have a 40x50inch TIFF file which is 150MB.  I open it in Photoshop and at the bottom of Camera Raw it now says it's 22MP and 14x17inched or so.  I open it from Camera Raw and save it - it's now 22MP and 14x17! I'm a Photoshop user since 1.0 (yes, a long time ago!) and this is the first time I've really been stumped.  Appreciate any help.

I figured this out and it was something dumb.  For some reason in Camera Raw Preferences, Image Sizing was checked Resize to Fit to 22MP size in pixels. I unchecked it and files worked nornally now.  How that happened after all these years I have no idea. Thanks Ranjisha for answering me.
