Correct Image Sizes

This is probably a question that's already answered but I can't seem to find it! I need help on figuring out what sizes I should save my images as. I used to know but can't remember since it was years ago... When I finish editing a picture in Photoshop, what should I change my image size to be if I want to post the picture on the web? And what sizes if I want to get the pictures printed out? Or what size should I save it as in general if I were to be giving a disc full of pictures to someone?

It really depends on the site you are posting to or the printers require or even the use of the image. Sizing can vary from a regular paper print to a gallery wrap to an album to just showcasing on social media and the different sites. If you can be more specific we will be able to help more.

When I am finished editing an image I save as a PSD without altering the image size. This is the master that I can always go back and start from.

Then if I am printing or saving an image to web etc I pick an appropriate size for that use and use Save As or Export . This means that any image size change is always done from the initial master and I don't end up applying multiple resolution changes.

Hi

As JJ said, you kinda need to to know what are your pixel width or (max-width) need for each of your intended outputs. (for best efficiency).

These days with all the different display sizes and resolution in use you may need to save several sizes and develop web pages for different size displays.
