"Could not complete your request because of a program error." When trying to save an image.

Hi Adobe Community,

Really hoping for a bit of advice here. I installed the latest photoshop 2 weeks ago, and everything has been running fine up until this evening. I can open images, work on them, but then when I try and flatten the layers or simply save the image, I am getting the error message: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."

I have tried uninstalling PS and installing again, and restarting my macbook too. I've tried "Unchecking the Enable Generator checkbox." as was suggested in another help forum. Both to no avail.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Thanks Axel. I've deinstalled the new version and reinstalled an older version and this has solved it for now.

I couldn't use the newest version of PS because of problems with the healing brush so I uninstalled it and have reinstalled an older version. Now I cannot save in this version and keep getting this message. I can't use PS at all now.

try downgrading your camera raw plugin from 13.1 to 12.4

Check your CC app - is it asking for an update or showing an error?

Thankd Kevin. No, showing no errors or updates. My solution to the problem has been to de install the newest version and reinstall an older version. This has solved it. Its a real shame that they have released a new version that is so buggy.

Ok.  Where in Creative Cloud do we get an older version of PS?

This is not an answer to the problem, has has worked for some.  Before saving, turn off all layers, then save.  When you open the document next time, you will have to manually turn the layers on again.

Thanks Phil...I finally found that workaround fix. How in the world can they do an "update" that makes the product unusable for its purpose? Complete bull. I used to like PaintShop Pro, but don't care for it's current version. Have gotten used to and even like Photoshop as it is what we use at work, but I'd never get it for home use. Too damn much $$ and monthly fees? nope.

This is a known bug in the recent version of Photoshop.

I am in the same boat and am getting quite fed up with Photoshop to be honest... I have been using photoshop for 4 years now and don't have many complaints up til this year! The past couple months has been a nightmare dealing with photoshop and I demand a refund!!! The amount of work these setbaks have cost me is 100 times greater than the monthly fee... Very disappointed!!!
