Once I did that, the issue was fixed, but after a while, maybe 8-12 months, it is back, however, this time those files are no longer to be seen, and I have no other choices. There are other older videos that show to delete this certain folder in %appdata% known as "TypeSupport," but I believe that was with the older versions of Photoshop, or they just have a different way of removing those files today, such as the fix that I used in the past. Other than that, there are no other ways to fix this, other than reinstalling Photoshop, which I have done about 2-3 times now. https://audacity.onl/  https://findmyiphone.onl/ https://origin.onl/

That deleting .lst files worked for this problem

First of all show all oyur hidden files...

    then

    GOTO

    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Adobe

type '.lst' in search pane and when files appear.. delete all of them....

    Start PS

    Worked for me.....

What I discovered was that if you first disable the font preview in Preferences -> Type, then re-enable it and then open up the font menu, you should see the preview loading from top to bottom.

Keep chasing the latest preview and then it should freeze at the trouble-maker. Hopefully the actual font file in the Font folder will have a similar name to the one in the menu, and you just need to move it to the desktop, then reload Photoshop to see if the font preview loads fine.

    >how the hell am i supposed to find out which F****N font is causing this issue?????..excuse my lang.

    select 1/2 your fonts.
move em out of the fonts folder.
    try photoshop.

if it fails, the bad one is in the 1/2 that stayed. if it worked the bad one is in the 1/2 that you moved.

keep halving the fonts until you get the bad one.

    To Randolph Hernandez:

    The Windows directory should be:

    C:\Documents and Settings\*user name*\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe

That may well work but it is a bit frightening for the average user to do all that stuff.

Far easier to do a search for and delete all instances of adobefnt*.lst
    (that extension is .LST).

And if a broken or corrupted font is causing problems there is no alternative in the long run to tracking it down and deleting it.

Do what Mary did, but move them back a few at a time until the problem recurs. Your faulty font is in that last bunch!
