When I search for this error message it tells me that the problem is Norton anti-virus. I do not have norton anti-virus installed on my mac. Any ideas?

the directory would be bad on 3 diff macs (and now 1 PC)? even copied file to local HD's...

What's that got to do with making sure your directory is ok?

Maybe that's why Photoshop doesn't like the file

won't open in imageready b/c it is CMYK... tried CS, which can open the composite, but not the layered file... unfortunately i have effects, etc., so ill. won't work, I'd have to rebuild... weird, the file does not seem to be corrupt.

    isired,

Did you try opening the file in ImageReady, and older version of Photoshop, or even Illustrator?

Just had this happen today. HELP! Do I have to rebuild the file?
    July 31, 2007
    Hmmmmm.....

Can't say I had this happen much at all. the few times I've had a problem opening in another version worked or if the file is RGB try ImageReady.

It would not open in 6.0, 7.0, CS, CS2 or CS3. We are going to try some more images to see how they react.

I just try opening the file in a version back that way you don't loose as much data as you do going back to version 5.
