Could not use the gradient tool because the target channels do not cover the composite.

Help! I can't seem to find this issue listed anywhere on the internet or in the forum. Does anyone have any fixes for me. This just started to happen.

    Apparently, my "obtuseness" is worse than I thought. For some reason, I had circular selected instead of linear. Years and years of photoshop under my belt, and I get sidelined by something so utterly random. Sorry.
