Crashing Without Warning

I'm currently using Photoshop CC on Windows 10, and have been using it for the last few months. Unfortunately it recently has been crashing without warning and without any indication of an error message.
The time it takes to crash seems to vary, and I can't seem to find what prompts the crash. Sometimes it crashes if left idle for a while.
I should specify that the only warning I get is when everything, besides the image I'm working on, turns a solid white and my tools lock, then the program crashes to my desktop.
I haven't had any issues with this until the day I've posted this question.
Any suggestions?

Hi josefl,

We're really sorry for all the trouble. Could you please let us know the exact version of Photoshop you are using now? You may try resetting the Photoshop preferences back to defaults and check if that helps to fix the crash issue.

Refer: Preferences in Photoshop

Have you tried running Photoshop without the GPU turned on? If not, then turn off the GPU from the Photoshop preferences > performance tab > deselect GPU > restart Photoshop and let us know the results.

Regards,

Mohit

I'm using "Adobe Photoshop CC 2018".
It looks like I did have the GPU on. So far it hasn't crashed, but now my zoom tool requires me to highlight the area I want to zoom in on rather than zooming in gradually. Is that an effect of turning off the GPU?
Also, thank you for the prompt response!
