Crop tool has no side handles in Classic Mode

I just installed Photoshop 2022 7/23/22 and I have done a search here and one answer I found said it would be fixed in an update. I finally decided to bite the bullet and upgrade from Photoshop CS6. I am on windows 10. I already know about putting it in Classic Mode but there are no handles.  Has anyone got an idea how to fix it?

Yes you are right and i do apologize for not noticing that. I had to go back to photoshop cs6 and see how it was supposed to work and it does appear broken in both photoshop 2022 (23.4.2) and photoshop 2021 (22.5.8).

 

It was fixed once in photoshop 2020 (21.1), but seems broken again.

If your able to, you could change this to a bug report or maybe one of the forum moderators will do it.

    Yes Jeff, That was the thread I saw that said it was going to be fixed but I guess they broke it again. If a Forum moderator sees this thread could you please report this bug.

    Classic Mode is like the Crop Tool in photoshop cs5 and older ps versions, so that means one has to draw out the crop box manually before one sees any handles.

     

    If you already knew that and still aren't seeing the side and corner handles, could you post a screenshot?

     

    What version of photoshop and operating system are you using?

    The older version of Photoshop that I have (CS6) defaulted to handles on the crop tool. You did not have draw them out. I know I can draw them out in the new version but that just adds another step to my work flow and I am hoping there is a way around that. Here is a screen shot from CS6 with the default crop tool and as you can see it has 8 handles. I have done numerous searches trying to rectify this problem and in older versions of the cloud based versions there was a fix but nothing seems to work in Photoshop 2022.
