Question

Crush every time after liquefaction

After click the finish button and close the liquify window, it will occur one of two things EVERYTIME:

1. After a short application freeze (like 10 seconds), pop a error window tell you something went wrong and PS is done (the one ask you to send feed back). No saving chance and no recovering file.

2.The whole canvas freezed, you can save but can't do anything else, including create new canvas.

* This problem came a long way since maybe 20.1, used to randomly appeared when you found the scroll function suddenly failed.

Anyone suffers the same pain? Also any solutions? To me to liquifiy photos is a total gamble, the best situation is I need to restart ps everytime I used this function. But hey, at least I can save my work sometime if lucky.

Btw my pc looks like this:

i7-11700KF

64G Ram

3080Ti GPU

Photos I work with are 5472x3648 pixels at 240ppi

Finally a video for people curious about "scroll function fail freeze". Noticed the mosaic in center is not a bug but an visual effect, help protecting my friend's privacy.

Hi @程22044510gr6l try holding the Alt key when selecting Liquify. Does that resolve the issue?

Hi @程22044510gr6l

I'm not seeing any submitted crash reports from you in our system. If you haven't done so already, please submit all Crash Reports along with your email address: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html That will help us diagnose the crash.

Thank you,

I am testing on my end and Photoshop after Liquify works each and every time, at least 6 tested images. I tried 3000x4000, 6000x4000 and 5184x3456px. While testing I am using Warp, Reconstruct, Bloat, Pucker, Push Left.

Aside RAM - on my machine is 32GB which I will not take in account as potential problem, there is GPU - mine is also nVidia 2060 and CPU which is on my end Ryzen 5. I am wondering if there is some pattern like problems occur always with Intel CPU or nVidia GPU?

A quick solution which works for me is disabling GPU usage in Photoshop at all. It will feel funny to use but won't crush or freeze. Other then that you have to wait for Adobe's solution, which won't come soon since I'm suffering from this same bug since PS 19.0.
