CS6 Photoshop authentication

There is an error with the serial authentication of the Photoshop CS6 perpetual license. I know the support has expired, but this is an issue about 'authentication', and isn't it correct that perpetual licenses should continue to be available?

How can I solve it if it doesn't authenticate?

The activation servers are no longer online.

So as long as the computer runs and OS, drivers etc. are compatible with that Photoshop version it can continue to be used there.

New activation (on another computer or because the activation has fallen prey to data corruption) is not feasilbe.

Why do you need to authenticate exactly?
