CTRL + Click on layer names to select multiple layers doesn't work - Photoshop 21.1.3

Hi all,

UPDATE:
It was a photoshop bug that was fixed in the recently published update 21.2.0.

I've got a newly installed PS 21.1.3. New PC and no previous versions installed.

CTRL click on layer names to select multiple layers doesn't work. Single clicking also has issues sometimes (not registering as if laggy sometimes, even though everything else usually runs smoothly), while shift clicking works reliably every time.

CTRL click with auto select inside the scene also works fine, I just can't use the layer panel, which is a mayor issue for me.
Any idea what might cause that issue and how it could be fixed?

I think you have to CTRL+Click on the gray area to the right of the name. Clicking on the name itself will put you into Edit mode for the layer name.

Hi Glenn,

Thanks for taking the time to answer.
I'm afraid there was a misunderstanding. You refer to single click on layer names.
CTRL+Click on layers always selected them whether or not it's directly on the name.

Independently of that it doesn't matter where I click on the layer panel, I can't select layers with CTRL+ Click while Shift click and single click usually work as expected.

Ahh yes, I see what you mean. I just tried it and it is working at this end. I single clicked on each layer name and it did select the layer as per normal. That said, I'm on a Mac/Catalina so this could be a Windows issue? Not sure, but it hasn't changed at this end.
