I'm trying to define a data set and I can't get past this error "Could not parse the file contents as a data set. There were too many variable names in the first line of the text file." HELP!!!!!!!!!

 

Running Photoshop 21.1.2 on Mac Catalina 10.15.4 OS

Try CSV rather than tab delimited. Does your source data contain commas? Can you post a cropped screenshot of the CSV version opened into a text editor? Again, please show the end of the data in CSV as well as the same section that you showed in tab format which appears to have inconsistent tab spacing.

 

EDIT: For a name, it may be easier to combine the two data source columns into a single column of data, which is possible using a formula in the spreadsheet or via a regular expression find/replace routine in a capable text editor which can both reverse the order of last and first name if required.

Asking a question about a data set file without showing the data set file is not very helpful.

 

Can you post a link to the file?

 

Can you take a screenshot of the file when opened into a plain text editor like Notepad.exe or TextEdit.app? If there are a lot of data set entries, can you show a screenshot of the beginning and the end of the data?

Here are photos of my photoshop file and my .txt file.  The .txt file is a Tab Delimited file that was saved from an Excel list.
