deleting auto recovery files?

Hi!

I'm quite new to photoshop, and I encountered a problem. I use it at school and whenever I open it, it shows an old edit that I don't want to be there. I've tried deleting the file (on the computer) but it still opens it. It's an auto recovery file, how do I get rid of it once and for all? I believe its windows? My teacher doesn't know either.

That happens when your computer crashes or shuts down irregularly. Recovery files are deleted in a normal shutdown.

You can manually delete the file. Look for a "PSAutoRecover" folder where you have your primary scratch disk. If you haven't specifically chosen a scratch disk location, it will be on the root of your C drive. Do a search.

As long as there is anything in this folder, it will open in Photoshop on next launch.
