disable updates or photoshop classic version

does anyone know a way to use classic version or stop the updates from automatically resetting settings and updating features? it's driving me insane. i use photoshop like an instrument and it's inefficient. imagine a pianist a piano when the keys are constantly moved around. i am starting to think the people making these updates don't actually use the program. but need a job. please make them stop.
